Trips
Every trip stores its own mileage rate, so you can always match the IRS rate that was in effect that month. The default is filled in for you from Settings β change it here if you need a different rate for this trip.
No trips yet. Add your first one above β for example, a drive to the post office.
Receipts
Type in what you paid and choose a category. Categories make the monthly summary β and your bookkeeper β happy.
No receipts yet. Add one you already have β even a $3 coffee while working counts as a receipt.
Monthly summary
Nothing to summarize yet. Add a trip or receipt first (or load sample data in Settings).

Where is my data?
In this browser, on this computer, under localStorage. It is not sent anywhere. Clearing your browser history/site data will delete it β so export CSVs (or a JSON backup) regularly.
Help
Getting started, step by step
- Set your rate. Open Settings and check the default rate. The app already suggests the IRS business rate that was in effect for each trip date.
- Add a trip. On Trips, enter the date, why you drove, and the miles. The rate is filled in automatically β change it if you like. Click Add trip.
- Add receipts. On Receipts, enter the date, vendor, amount, and a category.
- Check your month. The Summary tab shows trips, miles, mileage dollars, receipts by category, and a grand total β plus a whole-year table.
- Export or print. Download CSVs from the Summary tab, or use Print View for a clean report β print it on paper, save it as a PDF, or hand it to your accountant.
A few honest notes
- This tool is a calculator and a notebook, not tax advice. Check current rates and rules at irs.gov or ask a tax professional.
- Stored only on this computer, in this browser. If you use a different browser or device, that copy won't show your entries.
- Backups matter: use the CSV export buttons, or make a JSON backup from Settings.
- The mileage rate lookup only covers recent IRS rates (2024β2026). Older dates use the rate you type β which is still fully editable and recorded with the trip.
Keyboard shortcuts
Nothing exotic: Tab to move between fields, Enter to save a form. That's it.
